A Flexible Dual-Band Rectenna With Full Azimuth Coverage

This paper presents a novel cylindrical shaped dual-band flexible rectenna capable of harvesting RF energy from number sources available in the entire azimuth plane. The proposed configuration is an array four identical subsystems, printed on lightweight substrate. Here, each subsystem comprises dual-ring monopole antenna and rectifying circuit. designed topology good for popular bands LTE 1.8 GHz Wi-Fi 2.45 GHz. robustness also verified by testing it different bending angles H-plane simulation as well measurement. performance tested using S11 farfield radiation pattern. Further, extracting maximum signals plane, these antennas are backed wide-band artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) placed inner region cylinder. fabricated single unit converting power with 40% efficiency at very low input -12 dBm. Finally, overall validated through measurements two test real environment lab. light weight, substrate can extract randomly distributed simultaneously, while maintaining compact configuration.
